HOT STONE MASSAGE:
Warm up with an integrative spin on Hot Stone Massage. We use earth’s foot prints (stones from the Pacific) warmed up to massag the body, creating the sensation of liquid heat running down your muscles while effectively releasing tension.
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE:
This style of massage is direct and focused on releasing the deep muscles to allow the superficial muscles room (so to speak) to open up and release as well. The intention during a deep tissue massage is to get to the "HURT SO GOOD" level. Through focused breath work, communication, and proper pressure, we reach (but don't exceed) the client’s limit for bodywork. This type of therapy helps release the deep muscles and the client gets off the table feeling rejuvenated, never "beat up".
STRAIN / COUNTER-STRAIN
This modality is a very specific technique usually integrated into a Deep Tissue Massage. This concept was originated by a Physical Therapist, when he was trying to get his client to lie in any position that was comfortable. From there he discovered this technique resets the proprioceptors (the info system between the muscles and the brain) allowing the hyper-contracted muscle (tight muscle) to relax.
FLOWER ESSENCES:
A flower essence is a natural safe and comforting tool to help support us. It is very subtle and is to be used with respect and love for everything.
Flower essence properties are more in the etheric fields (energy work) however it enters into the physical realms in the sense that flower essences are able to be held in the hand and felt upon the body. The results are clear to feel and see. Perhaps you've heard of Rescue Remedy...that is one example of a flower essence. This therapy is very effective and can help unwind layers of stuck energy that bind us to our chronic patterns.
LYMPH DRAINAGE:
The lymph system absorbs excess fluids from the blood, cleanses tissues, carries food components to the blood stream as well as transporting important immune system cells to areas of need. This service activates the lymph function and promotes the circulation of the body and moves the lymph into the lymph nodes stimulating the immune system. Using this technique also stimulates the parasympathetic (rest and digest, or relaxation) response.
Things to know prior to receiving lymph drainage:
The day before: drink lots of water (1 gallon)
The day of: continue to drink lots of water, eat lightly and if possible go for a short brisk walk to help stimulate the lymph prior to session.
Things to know after receiving lymph drainage:
DRINK LOTS OF WATER
Through the stimulation of the lymph some clients might feel a little "toxic" after the session that is normal as the lymph nodes are processing. The feeling should not last more than a day after the session.
Finally....DRINK LOTS OF WATER...through flushing the system will come into homeostasis (balance).
THE FOUR-HANDED MASSAGE:
Enter into a journey of complete bliss as two Therapists work simultaneously to rejuvenate and balance the client. A slow, light to medium pressure massage promoting your body and brain to let go of the hub-bubs of life and slip away into the essence of relaxation. *Double hands equal double charge for this well worth experience*
